Vetrilai sadam(Betel Leaf ) Recipe

Ingredients

  • Betel Leaf – 3
  • Cumin – 1 Teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1 Teaspoon
  • Onion – 100 gram
  • Garlic – 10 nos. (chopped)
  • Salt – As Required
  • Mustard – 1 Teaspoon
  • Bengal Gram – 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder – 1 Teaspoon
  • Boiled Rice – 1 Cup
  • Gingelly Oil – As Required
  • Red Chilli – 3
  • Lemon – ½

Method

 

  • Grind betel leaf, cumin and pepper without water.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard, Bengal gram, red chilli, onion and garlic saute well until they to golden brown color.
  • Add the ground masala powder. Stir well and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt mix well.
  • Add in the cooked rice and mix well.
  • Add lemon juice.
  • Vetrilai sadam is ready.
