Malli (Coriander) Pongal  Recipe

Ingredients

  • Coriander Leaves – 1 Cup
  • Raw Rice – 1 Cup (soak)
  • Husked Green Gram – 50 gm(soak)
  • Green Chilli – 1
  • Cumin - 1 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves – Few
  • Pepper – 1 Teaspoon
  • Cashew – 15 gm
  • Salt - As Required
  • Ghee - As Required
  • Water – 2 to 3 cup

Method

 

  • Grind the coriander leaves fine paste.
  • Heat ghee in a cooker. Add cumin, pepper, curry leaves, cashew, green chilli mix Well.
  • Add coriander leaves paste. Stir well and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add salt and Pour enough water and bring to a boil.
  • Add rice and husked green gram.
  • Close the lid cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • Malli Pongal is ready. Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
